About AmericanVoters.US
AmericanVoters.US (AVUS) is a nonpartisan civic engagement platform for participation between elections — designed to help everyday citizens understand what Congress is doing and participate meaningfully in the work of representative government.
Voting chooses our representatives.
Ongoing participation holds them accountable.
AVUS exists to make that participation clearer, more accessible, and grounded in how Congress actually works.
Why We Built This
Representative democracy depends on informed, engaged constituents — not just once every few years, but every day Congress is in session.
Yet for most Americans, participation between elections is hard:
- legislative language is complex
- the process feels opaque
- access is dominated by organized interests
When people disengage, power shifts elsewhere. That's not a failure of citizens — it's a failure of access.
AmericanVoters.US was built to close that gap.
What You Can Do Here
AVUS gives you practical tools to engage with Congress on your own terms:
Start with what matters to you
Share the issues and concerns you care about most.
See the real bills Congress is working on — in plain English
Track legislation matched to your concerns, without jargon or spin.
Communicate through official congressional systems
Your messages go through the same channels Congress itself uses — clearly, directly, and constitutionally.
You decide how deeply to engage. Follow one issue or many. Read, track, speak up, or simply stay informed.
This is participation designed for real life.
How This Fits Together
AmericanVoters.US is part of a broader effort to strengthen representative democracy by making participation usable and transparent:
- Take Action shows you how to move from concern to engagement using our step-by-step journey tools.
- Transparency explains how this platform is governed, funded, and operated.
- Our Values outline the principles that guide how AVUS is built and used.
Each page has a purpose — so you can explore at your own pace.
Who's Behind AmericanVoters.US
They call us Boomers, Gen Xers, Millennials, and Gen Zers. We're restaurant workers and programmers, factory workers and CFOs, veterans, healthcare providers, teachers, truck drivers, consultants, and lawyers.
We've paid into the system — and now we're showing up to make sure it works as intended.
We're citizens from every state and every walk of life, united by a shared belief that representative government depends on participation. AmericanVoters.US is built by people who care about the American safety net, democratic accountability, and the simple idea that constituents should be heard.
We're not funded by corporations or run by lobbyists. We're powered by people.
And we vote.
Our Roots
AmericanVoters.US is developed by SeniorsUnited, a volunteer-powered nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the American safety net and strengthening democratic accountability.
AVUS reflects years of grassroots organizing experience and civic-technology development — brought together to create a platform focused not on parties or personalities, but on participation.
The platform is built by citizens, for citizens, and designed to serve people of every age.
Why Participation Between Elections Matters
Members of the House of Representatives face the people every two years — for a reason.
The Constitution assumes an engaged public: constituents who pay attention, follow legislation, and speak up when it matters.
AmericanVoters.US helps make that engagement possible — not by telling people what to think, but by giving them the tools to act with clarity and purpose.
